The body of a 38-year-old from Bay City who was presumed drowned was found Friday on the shoreline of Lake Pepin, near Maiden Rock, Wis.

According to sheriff's department, on Saturday about 6:15 p.m. officials were notified that a man, who had been boating in the area with his wife, fell overboard. His wife said she jumped after her husband went under in to attempt to save him, but was unable to. She swam to shore and walked to a nearby residence to call officials.

Crews recovered the man's body about 2:15 p.m. Lake Pepin is a wide spot on the Mississippi River that runs between Wisconsin and Minnesota.
